Measures the critical upper 6 cm of the rootzone for moisture, EC, and salinity stress, plus temperature at the critical canopy/soil interface.

The Ceres™ sensor
Angular sensor tines, precision-engineered from hardened marine grade steel built to last through the rigors of sand-based turfgrass systems, holds precision and accuracy a long time while delivering values you can trust, time and time again.
TOMi™ precisely measures the scientifically proven region of the rootzone system that most influences the surface, delivers the dominant moisture and salinity (nutrient) exchange, and gives a clear picture of the overall system above and below.
Unlike all other sensors, Ceres™ precisely measures exactly 6 cm. With its multi-algorithmic measurement processes, uniquely built specifically for turfgrass, TOMi™ captures exactly what the turfgrass feels and experiences, giving insight otherwise not possible, no matter what turf type, rootzone makeup or root depth exists.

The name
TOMi™ stands for Turf Observation and Monitoring Instrument — but the name carries a deeper meaning. It is our homage to Old Tom Morris, golf’s first Keeper of the Green, who began his tenure in 1851 and went on to define the role at St Andrews from 1864 to 1903.
Morris was renowned not just for his stewardship but for his willingness to adopt advanced practices and unconventional tools long before they were widely accepted. He didn’t wait for the industry to catch up; he led it.
That same spirit drives TOMi™. Old Tom read his turf by instinct and experience. TOMi gives today’s Keepers of the Green the data to do the same.
